CROSSING THE WORLD
The Walshs flourished in Ireland until the defeat in Ireland of the Jacobites (leb by the Catholic King James 2nd) by the Williamite forces in 1690. Descendants of Philip Walsh, James and his son Philip were cited for having transported King James 2nd and his army of 14000 Irishmen from Kinsale to France to escape the forces of William of Orange.
James Walsh subsequently became the Captain of the French Navy, while his Grandson Anthony (Antione) Walsh became famous for transporting the Prince of Wales, Charles Edward Stuart to Scotland in 1745. For this, Anthony earned the title of the first Earl Walsh."
Since then the Walsh's have travelled the world taking the Irish Fight for freedom and human rights to every corner of the Globe.
